Sanchi

The stupa of Sanchi is India’s oldest saga in stone is an expression of eternality is a world heritage site with monasteries, magnificent stupas, temples dates from 3rd BC to 12th AD. The Sanchi stupa is a homage paid by King Ashoka to Lord Buddha who taught him the path of peace and salvation. The four gateways of the Stupa called Torans depicts Jataka tales of Buddha’s incarnations. Sanchi is safeguarding the ancient history and art of the Mauryan times in the way it is protecting these architerctural wonders. The stupa is considered to be the oldest stone structure in India.
