Mandu the city of joy was filled with music, laughter and reveals the lovely stories of the beautiful queen Roopmati with King Baz Bahadur who lost his life in a battle, she sang to her beloved held captive across the river. From Roopmati pavilion her love songs can still be felt. Jahaz Mahal is built like a ship and seems to be floating in its own reflection is a witness of long rich and varied history. Mandu is easily accessible by road network. Buses run at regular intervals from Mandu to Indore and Bhopal. The nearest airport is located at Indore at a distance of 100 km from Mandu. Indore airport is also well connected to the major neighbouring cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Gwalior and Bhopal. The nearest railhead is located at Ratlam, 124 km from Mandu. Tourists travelling to Mandu by train can avail bus/ taxi service after getting down at Ralam railway station.
